APRIA

The Asia-Pacific Risk and Insurance Association (APRIA) was created in 1997.
Its purpose is to provide a means for all persons and entities with an interest in risk management, insurance, actuarial science, and related areas to share ideas and to engage in collaborative research for the ultimate benefit of the insurance industry.

APRIA members come from countries in Asia-Pacific, Africa, Europe and North America. APRIA members get together at the annual conference held usually in mid-July to share their latest research findings and learn of the latest developments in the industry. Some of the JSIS members attend this annual conference to act as APRIA’s board members or to make a presentation.

The annual conferences have been held at the various cities. In 2006 and 2011, the annual conferences were held at Meiji University in Tokyo.

The Association publishes its own journal, “Asia-Pacific Journal of Risk and Insurance”, bi-annually.
